Autumn Color week day 2....The pond

Kyrie pointed me in the direction of this group and I must say, I am glad to join.

My green.

The pond behind my parents house with the wonky dock.

and the weeping willow that Laura and I used to climb.

And the cat tails that seem to be encrouching little by little on this favorite pond of mine.

It is the pond where Laura and I spent hours learning how to skate, performing routines for our family when we felt they were good enough.

It is the pond that saw each of us split our chins wide open when we were little girls; me by tripping while skating; and Laura running around in a too big for her tulle ballerina dress.  Needless to say, we both got a lot of stitches.  And now 20 some odd years later, we share the same faint scar on our chins.

It is the pond that I still love to sit by.

When I am home.

Thank you Vanessa. It really was just a haven growing up here, I'm glad that Eben has the same land to roam on.

what a lovely spot...it is so neat to be able to connect memories to a specific place that you can visit often. I imagine not many get to do that.

Oh,how I miss our apartment. It's Summer. I'm laying in bed and hear the river flowing into the pond....the ducks quacking, the willow tree waving and fanning us with it's majestic branches...HEAVEN! I can still see you and Laura.... at about the age of two, sitting on the big rock, on the rim of the pond. You are holding hands and giggling...so happy to be outside. Safe and secluded...the World was your oyster. All that we had to do was open the back door...your very own World to explore.... and there you were. HEAVEN and NO WORRIES. I really don't think that feeling has ever left any of us. For those of us who continue to live here, and those who may visit....on this wonderful and peaceful land.
We all are truly blessed to have all of this wonderfulness and each other. Come one come all....loved ones.
