Driving home yesterday
Winding back roads
Flanked by fields
I pulled the car over and sat
Watching them as they ate
Ten in total
All horned and molting
So many acres to roam
Yet here they stood
Side by side.
Visiting in their own way
Their own language
Friends

Wow!! I would have a hard time driving away. I could watch them all day!!
They are majestic. What was the atmosphere like--was it quiet, could you hear them eating? I recently was on a bike ride and passed an open field with several deer in it and they and I just looked at each other. I was glad to slow down and observe.
Elk! We have Elk too, are they not some of the most gorgeous creatures? Beautiful words, beautiful photos.
I missed you dear friend, and am looking forward to catching up on all that you have been doing
