For Imene.

Now that Imene has posted that she received the books that I exchanged with her, I can tell you all about the ones that I sent to her.  I was so thrilled with the ones that I got from her, I was nervous that mine would fall flat, or that she would already have one of them.

The first and my most favorite of the bunch was Romantic Home Sewing book by Christina Strutt.  I am a huge shabby chic style fan and this book really caters to that style of home.  The author is the owner of the  Cabbage Roses, a gorgeous little space on the web that I visit often to sigh, oogle, and smile at.

I promise you that if I were single and living a fancy free life, I would own a little cabin with whitewashed floors with floral prints on absolutely every soft surface in sight.  I'd sleep in a bed like this. and invite all of you over to my house for a tea party on my garden patio.

And, I'd make myself this.

And I'd wear it ALL DAY LONG.

While I did laundry and toted it all around in my pretty handmade laundry bag.

Which you can find the pattern for in the second book that I sent to Imene.  Sew and Stow by Betty Oppenheimer.  This book is chuck full of wonderful ideas for storing and carrying.  The patterns are very easy and the pictures are super vibrant and inticing.

Also included, was one of the vintage crafting books that I got while thrifting a while back.  I had two of them and they are packed with page after page of instructions on all sorts of crafting....sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, rug making....you name it, it's in there.  Plus, half of the fun in reading them was in the pictures for the 80's.

Seriously....what the world must have been going through to have that much eye makeup and hairspray on it's entire female population.

I'm glad that I was just a little girl for it all.

And as a little extra, I included a back issue of Knit.1.

If you have time, you might like to check out their website for some cute knitting ideas.

So, thank you Imene for being my partner, I hope that these books give you as much creative idea's as they shared with me.

I am hoping that Suzanne's books reach her this week sometime, and then I'll be able to tell you all about the ones that I sent to her.

Ta-Ta for now, my sweet friends.
