I can't for the life of me understand how a Post Office in a small town like the one that I was raised in, can only be opened from 9:30am to 11:15am on a Saturday. And granted, I technically don't live there anymore, but seriously, don't they realize that we live in a ski town....hence the morning of skiing by it's local crafty girls?
Hhhhhhmmmmmm?!?!?!?!
I feel a letter to the Post Master coming on.
Any way.....yesterday when I returned home from mailing my packages, I found a big post box on my porch. A box that had something in it that was heavy and cluncked from side to side as I shook it like a little kid on Christmas morning.
I brought it into the house and pluncked myself smack dab in the middle of my dining room to read the label and fish out it's contents.
Three books slid out...and at the sight of the one on top, I let out a whoop.
"Whoop!"
and a yea.
"YEA!!!"
Amanda's book is one that I have coveted ever since I read of it's conception over at Amanda's Blog. A constant source of inspiration, that girl is. I had looked high and low through our local bookstores and even in the closest city for it, but no one had it.
You see, I'm pretty sure that...if you collected all of the crafty books in our local bookstores combined, you wouldn't even be able to fill MY book case!
But, oh Amanda's book is just what you would expect from her. Filled with thought and lovely pictures and insight. Right off the bat I found a project that will fill the void on one wall of Eben's bedroom. Since we are trying to keep the clutter of our entryway down to a minimum, Eben needed a place in his room to keep all of his gear. It is to be his school readiness wall. And this was just the kind of thing that I had in mind.
I think it is going to be a lot of fun to make this together.
The second book The Sew it Book was the cutest book of vintage projects. Filled with cute little illustrations and oodles of projects, I just knew that it would be good.
I found a bonnet project that I want to play with for babies hats when Laura and I do the Farmer's Markets this coming summer.
Very Little House on the Prairie, don't you think?
And lastly was this book Quilts which I had never seen before, but now I wonder where it has been all of my life.
The title is deceptive, I probably would have passed right by it on a shelf, since I am not that great of a quilter. But, if you read right there in the fine print at the bottom, it says it all....
Patchwork Projects.
BINGO!
There are so many wonderful projects in this book that I was alarmed at my affinity for patchwork. I found a super cute apron pattern which I am going to work on. Once I get my sewing room up and running again, that is.
To score so completely with this stack of goodness from Imene was just too wonderful.
SO, thank you Imene. Thank you for your amazingly generous package. Thank you for being my partner. Thank you for joining the exchange. Thank you for your beautiful Blog which I love to visit.
Oh, Oh, Oh...I almost forgot....and thank you for being the poster child for how to care for books....I swear, I was shocked at their condition...the bindings weren't even bent! How do you manage that?!?!?!
Seriously, you should teach a class on that or something!
